Parking & Arrival
When to arrive: Allow approximately 20–30 minutes before any required in-person appearance for parking, security and check-in. This is practical planning advice, not a court-mandated arrival time.
One court serves both Little Egg Harbor and Eagleswood; Eagleswood cases use Eagleswood.mc@njcourts.gov. The court does not assess license points (Motor Vehicle Commission: 609-292-6500). Little Egg Harbor Criminal Defense Lawyer
Charges in this township can begin on U.S. Route 9, on County Route 539, near Garden State Parkway Exit 58, or with a citizen complaint signed at the court window on Radio Road. Even a low-level offense here can mean jail exposure of up to six months, and a drunk driving conviction can bring an ignition interlock or license suspension and raise your insurance for years. Our Ocean County criminal defense lawyers take Little Egg Harbor cases from the first summons through a negotiated resolution or a trial.
Why Little Egg Harbor Clients Call Us
- A court that carries two towns. Little Egg Harbor and Eagleswood cases are heard in the same courtroom, before the same judge. Counting both towns, the room on Radio Road handled 5,765 filings in the latest court year.
- DWI cases are climbing. Over the twelve months ending June 2026, the state counted 59 drunk driving complaints here, up from 38 the year before, a jump of about 55%.
- Zoom sessions with breakout rooms. The court sends defendants from a virtual waiting room into a breakout room with the prosecutor or the public defender, so the plea conversation happens online.
- Virtual sessions on more than one weekday. Most sessions fall on Mondays, but some Zoom calendars are set for other weekdays, so we track the exact date on every client’s notice.
One Courtroom for Little Egg Harbor and Eagleswood
Eagleswood Township does not run a separate court. A single municipal court serves both townships, and Eagleswood cases share the Radio Road address, phone number, office hours, judge and administrator with Little Egg Harbor. Each municipality has its own court email: LtlEggHarbor.mc@njcourts.gov and Eagleswood.mc@njcourts.gov.
The two towns still keep separate case files. The Judiciary assigns them different court codes (1516 for Little Egg Harbor and 1508 for Eagleswood), so the statistics further down this page count only tickets and complaints written in Little Egg Harbor. If you were stopped in West Creek or elsewhere in Eagleswood, see our Eagleswood court page for that town’s figures.

Breakdown by case type
Court performance (criminal and traffic)
Source: New Jersey Judiciary, Municipal Court Statistics, July 2025–June 2026, PDF page 434. Figures above combine the report’s criminal columns (indictable, disorderly/petty disorderly and 228 other criminal complaints), DWI and moving violations, and leave out 9 parking tickets. Including parking, the court recorded 4,779 total filings. Figures are reported by court, not by arresting agency or the defendant’s town of residence. A clearance rate above 100% means more cases were resolved than newly filed during the period; it is not a conviction rate. These figures are a reporting-period snapshot, not live court data.
What Little Egg Harbor’s Court Numbers Mean
Little Egg Harbor’s caseload barely moved last year. The NJ Judiciary’s July 2025–June 2026 municipal court statistics record 4,779 filings, against 4,775 a year earlier, a change of 0.1%. Moving violations made up 3,549 of them, close to three out of every four. The court also received 1,162 criminal filings, including 363 indictable complaints that started here before being sent up to the county. DWI filings rose from 38 to 59.
With 4,746 matters resolved across all case types, the court posted a 99% clearance rate: for practically every new case filed, an older one was closed, and the docket stayed about the same size. At the close of June 2026 the report counted 486 cases in backlog and 816 pending. Treat these totals as a picture of the court’s workload, not as a forecast for how any individual case will turn out.

Paying or Contesting a Little Egg Harbor Ticket
Little Egg Harbor accepts payment several ways:
- At the window. The court takes cash, checks, money orders and credit cards on weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
- By mail. Send the summons with a check or money order. Any check must show the complaint or summons number and the phone number of the person signing it.
- Online. Some violations can be paid at NJMCdirect.
- Payment plans. The court warns that if you stop making payments on an arrangement without telling the court, there is little room left to work out a solution.
Sending in a payment is the same as pleading guilty, and the conviction stays on your driving or criminal record. The court itself does not assess license points; the Motor Vehicle Commission does (609-292-6500). If a ticket could bring points, a surcharge or a suspension, get legal advice before you pay. You may qualify for the municipal public defender if you face possible jail, loss of driving privileges or fines over $800. The application fee can be up to $200 and the application must be made on or before your court date; a Spanish-language financial questionnaire is available.
Preparing for Your Little Egg Harbor Court Date

- Test Zoom ahead of time. Make sure your device, camera and audio work before 9:00 a.m. so you are in the waiting room on time.
- Have your plea on file. If you intend to contest the ticket, enter the not-guilty plea before the court date, not during it.
- Ask about mediation. The court offers a municipal court mediation program, which may suit disputes between neighbors or acquaintances.
- Veterans can ask for a referral. A Veterans Assistance Program referral form is posted with the court’s forms.
When a Little Egg Harbor Charge Leaves Municipal Court
Felony-level charges, which New Jersey calls indictable crimes, are beyond this court’s power to decide. After a complaint like that is filed on Radio Road, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office takes it over and reviews it, and any prosecution that goes forward takes place in Ocean County Superior Court in Toms River. Sometimes the prosecutor reduces the charge to a lesser offense and returns the file to Little Egg Harbor to be resolved locally. Depending on your record, you may be eligible for one of New Jersey’s diversionary programs, including Pretrial Intervention or conditional dismissal, which can end in a dismissal.
Nearby Courts
Little Egg Harbor surrounds the borough of Tuckerton, which has its own municipal court, and it borders Eagleswood (heard in this same courtroom), Stafford Township, Barnegat, Long Beach Township and Beach Haven. Across the county line sit Galloway Township in Atlantic County and Bass River and Woodland Townships. The town where the ticket was issued decides which court hears it.
