Parking & Arrival
The court is at the Borough municipal complex at 2480 Plainfield Avenue. Parking is behind police station and municipal court. Overflow parking can be found nextdoor, behind the South Plainfield Public Library.
When to arrive: Allow approximately 20–30 minutes before any required in-person appearance for parking, security and check-in. This is practical planning advice, not a court-mandated arrival time.

What to Expect at South Plainfield Municipal Court
If you park in the back lot, come in through the double glass doors. The violations window is in the hallway to your left. Keep going straight and the courtroom is around the corner to your left. During sessions, a South Plainfield police officer runs security with a metal detector and a table for checking your belongings.
Once inside the courtroom, check in and take a seat. The prosecutor’s office is at the back of the courtroom, on the right as you walk in. The prosecutor meets with attorneys and self-represented defendants one at a time, and attorneys always go first, so people without a lawyer can expect to wait.
When your case has been handled, you do not leave the way you came in. There is a separate exit through the large wooden double doors on your left.
