Bayonne NJ Aggravated Assault & Unlawful Weapon Charges

A defendant has been charged with the stabbing of a 22 year old man which took place last Wednesday in the parking lot of the Hudson Plaza Motel located in Bayonne. The defendant is a 29-year-old man also from Bayonne, New Jersey.

Cops were called to the scene just before midnight and the investigation didn’t take long at all. Upon arrival, police found the defendant “red handed” holding the red-handled folding knife, according to the police reports.

The defendant was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Knife and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon. The judge posted a hefty bail of $100,000 which would indicated that the crimes are first or second degree indictable offenses which are punishable by mandatory incarceration for even a first time offender. Because the charges are felony crimes, the defendant will be required to appear in Jersey City at the Hudson County Superior Court. It is definitely in the defendant’s best interest to retain an experienced Bayonne NJ Criminal Lawyer to handle his case because he is looking at very serious repercussions.

The victim was subsequently taken to Jersey City Medical Center to be treated for internal bleeding, according to police reports. It is unclear on his condition at this time. Visit the article at nj.com for more information regarding this incident.
