Cranford NJ Steroid Charges

Cranford Police was arrested a man from Garwood after a search of his car led to the confiscation of steroids and syringes. The man drew attention to himself by parking a van in the lot of a closed business at East South Avenue and Meeker Avenue around 6:30 p.m., according to police.

Cranford police officers decided to investigate the suspicious activity, and a search of the vehicle turned up 28 syringes and two bottles of suspected steroids, according to police. The defendant was charged with drug possession, possession of hypodermic needles and having an open container in a vehicle. He was released pending an appearance in Union County Superior Court. Possession of anabolic steroids is a third degree indictable crime punishable by 3 – 5 years in state prison if convicted. It would well advised that you seek the assistance of an experienced Cranford NJ Criminal Defense Lawyer for these kinds of charges.

According to other reports, this was not the defendant’s first run-in with local authorities. He was arrested in Clark in April 2012 on charges of Receiving Stolen PropertyDrug Paraphernalia and multiple warrants. A month later, he was arrested in Cranford after trying to hide from police officers behind a parked car, and was allegedly found in Possession of Heroin. This is a great example as to why I always tell my clients to stay out of the town they were arrested in, especially if they plan on doing any questionable behavior because local police will always have you on their radar – and for good reason.
